Anthony Ray Gails

I Am Free

Don’t grieve for me, for now I’m free,
I’m following paths God made for me
I took his hand, I heard him call
Then turned, and bid farewell to all

I could not stay another day
To laugh, to love, to sing, to play
Tasks left undone must stay that way
I found my peace … at close of play

And if my parting left a void
Then fill it with remembered joy
A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss
Ah yes, these things I too will miss.

Be not burdened… deep with sorrow
I wish you sunshine of tomorrow
My life’s been full I’ve savoured much
Good friends, good times
A loved one’s touch

Perhaps my time seemed all too brief,
Don’t lengthen it now with undue grief.
Lift up your hearts and peace to thee
God wanted me now
He set me free.

This most beautiful spirit will sincerely be missed. Even after we went "electronic", Mr. Gails made a point of stopping by to check on this office every once in a while. Never without a smile. Never without a word of encouragement. Always in love. Rest in Love, Mr. Gails.

Mr Gails was a dear an wonderful person, who would always greet me with Good Day Mrs Middleton how are you, have a blessed day. He could spot me a mile away and still greet from a distance. It was many years we would see one another in passing through the parking garage or in the building. He will truly be missed. My deepest condolences to the Gails Family.

Please accept our deepest condolences from LaQuista Ellegan and Family. Mr. Gails has been a bright shining light for us all here at the City of Houston Public Works Department. I will always remember his love of the Lord and willingness to spread the word to everyone he encounter. Praise God for this man impacting us each and everyday with a blessing or a prayer to get us through our day. He prayed for me and my family all the time and would check back for a praise report whenever we crossed paths. We will keep him in our hearts and our minds. His hard work and consistency did not go unnoticed or unappreciated. Mr. Gails and his family will remain in our hearts forever.

I wish to share my sincerest condolences to the family and friends. Every time I passed him at work he made me feel good. He would say hello and we would briefly chat. I didn't know him well, but being around folks like Anthony makes life so much more enjoyable.
